Psalm 119:18  NLT  “..open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.” (law)

            Maid of the Mist is the name of the boat we rode on to go into the falls. Yes, you heard me right! We rode this boat right into the falls. It was amazing! We boarded the boat dressed in our rain poncho provided by the boat as we prepared to board for the adventure!

            It was only a 20 minute ride, but boy was it WILD! The rain poncho was necessary to keep from getting drenched. We went out into the middle of the Niagara in front of the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The boat stopped there for a few minutes and let us soak in the beauty of the water and the falls! It was breathtaking!! Much different story than from above the falls at the top of observatory or on Luna Island. Those were amazing enough!

            Then, on we went into the middle of the Horseshoe Falls! Again, the boat stopped and sat there as we soaked in the majesty of the water cascading over the edge and down. Lord, let me see! What a wondrous sight to see!!  I wanted to just sit and soak it all in as long as possible!

            God sparked a desire in my heart! I want to see God and the truths He has for me the same way I see those falls! They were breathtaking and magical! When God reveals truths to us that’s how it should be for us- breathtaking! That God would care enough about us that He would spend time with us and reveal His truths for us so we can become more like Jesus!! It’s a very humbling thought that He would want that. However, what is more humbling is the fact that He sent his Son to die so we could have that kind of relationship.

            Sometimes I read the Bible and it seems ho-hum. Help me Lord to see you love letter to me in a fresh way- with new truths to behold and share with others on this same journey. Help me as I move through life, day to day, to look for those opportunities to share what You have done for me with others.

Maid of the Mist is the boat in the River!
